At the main SBBC campus in Santa Barbara, we offer a limited number of off-campus accommodation spaces for students. This is placed within easy traveling distance to campus, so it’s easy to make it to campus for early classes, and places at this facility tend to go quickly as a result.
Securing a place at the official SBBC accommodations will save you the trouble of looking for somewhere to live, dealing with realtors and viewing multiple apartments before finding the right one. It will also guarantee that you are based in a central location within easy commuting distance of the campus and the many activities and events which happen there. It will also give you the perfect opportunity to meet some of your fellow students and make friends with your neighbors early on.
If you are interested in staying at the SBBC accommodations, we strongly advise submitting your application at least 6 weeks prior to your arrival. You can find some further information about our accommodations options here.
If you miss out on applying for SBBC accommodations, you can still pursue a number of other options. You can contact us regarding finding a homestay, where we will try to place you in accommodations with a family who live near the campus. Places for this living arrangement are extremely limited and if you wish to pursue this, you should notify us no later than 21 days prior to your scheduled program start date – though the earlier you can notify us of your intentions, the more likely it is we will be able to find you suitable accommodations.
We can also offer assistance when it comes to finding suitable third-party accommodations. If you wish to do this, please contact a member of our staff who will be happy to offer assistance and advice in terms of the best local areas to focus your search for accommodations. They will be able to recommend a contact for a local realtor who can suggest suitable properties which match your budget and requirements for traveling to campus.
Those who may require additional financial support to help with the costs of accommodations can find more information about support programs by visiting our page on financial aid.
If you would like any further information on accommodations options please contact a member of our support team, who will be happy to help.
