Network administration program interview questions

After submitting your written application to join our network administration program, you may be invited for an interview at one of our campuses. We consider the interview to be a crucial stage of the application process, as it gives both you and our admissions staff a better chance to gauge how well suited you may be to the program.

Some students find the prospect of an admissions interview to be daunting, but we can assure you it is nothing to worry about. The interview is an informal meeting designed primarily to provide information, but you should still be prepared to make a positive first impression. We advise doing this by preparing some answers as to why you have chosen this particular program and how you believe it will help to achieve your career ambitions.

The interview also provides an opportunity to ask any questions about the course or college which you may have been unable to find answers for elsewhere.  The interview process often provides a chance to speak with current students and instructors who can give you a realistic insight into the day-to-day workings of the program you will actually experience.

Example network administration interview questions:

  1. Why do you want to study network administration?
  2. What are your short-term and long-term career ambitions?
  3. What skills do you have that are suited to network administration work?
  4. Describe a time when you have shown leadership skills.
  5. What do you think will be the most difficult element of a career in network administration?
  6. What do you consider your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
  7. What are your hobbies and interests?
  8. Why do you think network administration will be a good industry to work in?
  9. Why have you chosen to apply for this college?
  10. Provide an example of something you are proud of and explain why.
