Shopping: Our campus in Santa Maria is conveniently placed for local amenities, with plenty of shopping options nearby. Within walking distance of the campus you will find Broadway Plaza and Stowell Center for big brand shopping, and a 24 hour Foods Co for groceries.
Movie Theaters: Santa Maria has lots to entertain movie lovers, with several theaters close to the campus. The most convenient option is the Edwards Santa Maria 10 on South Bradley Road, just a few minutes’ drive away.
Bowling: The nearby Rancho Bowl on Donovan Road is an ideal place to unwind and get to know your classmates. As well as 32 recently remodeled lanes, there are DJs 7 nights a week, great drinks offers and an extensive food menu – all of which makes for a great night out.
PCPA Theater: Santa Maria has a number of top class theater facilities, and premier among them is the stunning PCPA Theater on South College Drive. Since 1964, PCPA has been delivering year-round theater shows in the grand auditorium and guarantees a great show at affordable prices.

Wine Tasting: Santa Maria is well known for its selection of exquisite wines, and there are many ways to sample the very best the area has to offer. Local favorites include Presqu’ile Winery, Rancho Sisquoc and Foxen Vineyard.
Santa Maria Fairpark: The Santa Maria Fairpark, within walking distance of campus, is great fun for big kids looking to escape studying. The park plays host to many community events in Santa Maria including the Valley Strawberry Festival in April and the County Fair in July.
Santa Maria Civic Theater: The Civic Theater is a local institution which has been staging continuous shows in the area since 1959. Their intimate 100 seat theater doesn’t have a bad seat in the house, and is the ideal place to catch a show. The theater is situated around 5 minutes off campus, on North McClelland Street.
Live music: For classical music fans, the Santa Maria Philharmonic Society is based just a short walk from campus. Those looking for some rock and roll can find regular live music at multiple venues across the city, including O’Sullivans, Rancho Bowl and Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co.
Shaw’s Steakhouse: Shaw’s is the perfect spot to sample some of the world-famous Santa Maria style BBQ which the locals love so much. You can try some of the wide range of meats cooked on the open kitchen pit or get one of Shaw’s signature tri tip sandwiches.
Atari-Ya: If you’re looking for sushi, this authentic style Japanese restaurant is the place to go. Just half a mile from the college campus, and offering a huge menu of options, this is a great place to grab a bite with classmates.
The Pantry: Just a few minutes’ drive off campus this breakfast spot is a favorite with students. The Pantry is well known for its huge portions of traditional breakfast treats, and is the ideal place to fuel up for a day of studying!
In-N-Out Burger: A short drive off campus is this burger joint with a huge selection of decadent creations. Take away from the drive-thru or sit in and enjoy the friendly and laid back atmosphere.
The Moxie Café: This relaxing café retreat near campus offers a diverse menu of fresh and healthy food; an ideal lunch-time stop or somewhere to unwind after class.
Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co: The best place in town for beer lovers, Figueroa offers a huge selection of craft beers and a menu of tasty bar food too. A relaxed atmosphere and proximity to campus makes this hugely popular with students.
The Tap Room: This Olde English styled pub located at the Santa Maria Inn is a popular hotspot for weekend drinks. The Tap Room offers a strong selection of craft beers, a cozy atmosphere, regular live music events and DJs.
O’Sullivans: This hip Irish bar on E Main St is popular with students thanks to the wide selection of exotic beers, both on tap and bottled, and the regular events showcasing locals artists and touring indie bands.
