The coastal region of Ventura is an excellent locale for students, offering a wide range of facilities, attractions and a lively community in which to learn. Sat on the southern California coast, the city also benefits from excellent weather conditions and a generally sunny way of life that our students love.
After a hard day of studying you will want to unwind, and the vibrant but peaceful city environment of our college in Ventura offers lots of options for students of all ages. There are always things happening in the area, ensuring you will never be bored at SBBCollege Ventura.
The SBBCollege campus at Ventura is one of our newest locations, opened in 2003, and is unique among our campuses as the only one to offer our exciting Aviation program. Our forward-thinking approach extends to a wide range of facilities and student support services across all subjects.
We are dedicated to making sure you get the most out of your time at SBBCollege, which is why we keep our class sizes small (typically no more than 20), so you can get the knowledge you need to aim big. While we like to focus on learning, we also offer lots of fun activities and events both on and off campus throughout the year - meaning you will never struggle to unwind after class.
Shopping: There are a number of shopping malls conveniently situated near the campus, including Telephone Plaza and Poinsettia Plaza. There is a Trader Joe’s supermarket 5 minutes’ drive from campus and a number of smaller grocery stores within walking distance.
US Post Office: There is a local post office less than 10 minutes’ drive away on South Wake Forest Avenue.
Public Library: There are a number of public libraries situated just a short drive from our Ventura campus, including E.P. Foster Library, Ventura County Law Library and Albert H Soliz Library.
Movie Theaters: A 5 minute walk from campus is the Regency Theater, which screens a selection of new releases and classics. A short drive away is the local multiplex, the Century 10 Downtown Theater, which screens the latest blockbusters and 3D releases.
City Parks: Ventura has a number of public parks where you can soak up the sunshine. Within convenient walking distance of the campus are Marion Cannon Park, Thille Park and Olivas Adobe Historical Park.
Ventura’s premier Museum of History & Art is widely recognized for its impressive range of cultural artworks and historic exhibits. Situated just a short drive away off campus, this local institution is worth repeat visits to view their regularly updated range of artifacts.
A short drive off campus is the Discovery bowling alley, a popular student hang out spot which also showcases regular live music. As well as bowling, the Discovery has pool tables and a great selection of affordable food and drinks served until late - making it an ideal place to unwind and get to know your classmates.

Thanks to its location on the Californian coast, Ventura is blessed with a number of golden beaches which are easily accessible from our central campus. Less than 10 minutes’ drive from campus is local favorite San Buenaventura State Beach. Outdoor adventurers will enjoy the similarly close McGrath State Beach and Campground, which has beach camping spots, sand dunes and nature trails.
Ventura beaches are renowned nationwide for the quality of their waves, and the city regularly attracts surfing enthusiasts from all over the world looking to experience them. This makes the city an ideal place for any water sports fans, and our campus is perfectly situated next to the coast.
This historic music venue set in downtown Ventura has retained its unique 1920s architecture and atmosphere, making it an excellent venue to see the very best of local and touring music acts coming through the city. The Majestic Theater is conveniently placed just 10 minutes’ drive from our campus.
This iconic city landmark of two lone trees perched on a hill overlooks the city and is visible across the city, but the view from the top of the hill is another experience. Reaching the summit requires a short steep hike but the views over Ventura and the sense of tranquility at the top make it worthwhile.
The Ventura Harbor is a popular spot with locals and there is always something happening here. As well as stunning views over the water, you will find bars and restaurants, a comedy club and a range of fun nautical-themed activities.
The stunning Channel Islands National Park is accessible by less than 10 minutes’ drive from the campus. One of the most unique visitor attractions in the country, this park consisting of five islands, is home to more than 100 unique species and really must be seen to be believed.

Set against the backdrop of the sunny coast, Ventura has a number of picturesque golf courses. Less than two miles away are the professional quality Olivas Links and Buenaventura courses. For less serious golfers; the fun filled miniature golf at Golf N’ Stuff, just a few minutes’ drive away, may be more appealing.
Ventura is situated in a well-known wine region and there are a huge range of wine tours to be taken around the area. There are a number of wine hotspots around the campus to be explored; most notably the Four Brix Winery, the Old Creek Ranch Winery and the Ventura County Wine Trail.
