Our Associate's degree in Medical Billing and Coding teaches students to become a vital member to an exciting healthcare team as they train to work in a diverse range of medical settings, like doctors’ offices, hospitals and clinics, learning how to make sure these healthcare environments function effectively and efficiently.
Students learn the responsibilities of a health information technician, including electronic health records and patient care management software, identification of insurance forms, medical diagnostic coding, and medical billing procedures. Also incorporated into the program is the student’s ability to track patient medical history, symptoms and exam results while comprehending commonly used medical terminology.
SBBCollege's Medical Billing and Coding associate's degree program teaches students how to help doctors' offices, hospitals and clinics run smoothly and efficiently within an administrative position. Through training in front office skills and integrated computer applications, they learn the skills needed to work as a medical billing and coding technician.
And, as part of SBBCollege's Medical Billing and Coding program, they can apply what they learn in the classroom to an externship in a real work environment before graduating. This experience could be just what is needed to put them ahead in the job market!
