Positions in this career field include:
• Early Childhood Teacher
• Preschool Teacher
Preschool employees nurture children by providing early childhood care and education using a range of teaching strategies. They work with kids, usually under five years of age, both in groups and in one-on-one settings by developing curriculum and implementing lessons that cover a range of development areas, including motor skills, language, and social development. Early childhood educators play a critical role in their students' development by introducing reading and writing, vocabulary, and creative arts using formal teaching, media, play exercises, and other approaches.
People intrusted with the care and education of young children are expected to possess a strong understanding of the stages of childhood development and have the ability to implement teaching strategies to assist in furthering that development.
Those interested in these types of positions may benefit from having a degree in early childhood education.
Students in SBBCollege’s early childhood education program acquire thorough and practical knowledge of child development, and will be able to design curriculum, plan environments, manage behaviors and assess development. Graduates will be prepared for employment as teachers of infants, toddlers and preschoolers, as well as be equipped for advancement in the field.
